It is a real pleasure to join you this evening, as we celebrate the seventh anniversary of Raia Diplomatica. This special occasion gives us the chance to congratulate the magazine on another successful year and to recognize the important role it has been playing since its establishment.
Over 7 years, Raia Diplomatica has worked with great dedication to offer everyone accessible and researched articles on global affairs, covering not only political and economic issues, but also tourism, culture, sports, science and many other areas that connect our societies and shape the way our nations interact. This wide scope has enabled Raia Diplomatica to become a platform where diplomats, scholars, journalists, and readers from many countries can exchange views and learn from one another.
It is indeed great news that Raia Diplomatica is launching its Chinese edition, and I really wish to congratulate China Cluster and of course Raia Diplomatica for the cooperation protocol that is about to be signed. It is a significant step showing the magazine’s commitment to strengthening connections across many regions, including Asia. This expansion allows the magazine to reach new audiences and to further promote dialogue among nations, achieving the important goal of bringing people closer through shared knowledge and understanding. To that end, we are looking forward to launching an Arabic edition soon.
Before I continue, let me say that my opinion about Raia Diplomatica may be slightly biased, as I recently received a very dear award from the magazine.
In the field of diplomacy, we are constantly reminded that dialogue and cooperation remain the most effective tools for addressing challenges and building mutual trust. When countries engage with openness and goodwill, they set an example of how principles can create a more stable and cooperative global environment.

Ladies and gentlemen,
I am speaking to you today in my capacity as Egypt’s Ambassador in Madrid, and I wish to say how happy I am to serve in this role. Spain is a country that has, through its principled and balanced foreign policy, shown that it truly believes in dialogue, partnership, and respect for international law. These values have created a positive environment for deeper cooperation with many countries, including Egypt.
Beyond its foreign policy, Spain is also distinguished by the spirit of its people. Their openness and warmth make it easy to build relationships and to work together. The respect and warmth shown by the Spanish create an environment where cooperation grows faster. This human dimension adds a great value to our bilateral relations and makes serving here not only meaningful, but also a real pleasure.
Egypt and Spain share a solid and growing partnership. This was clearly demonstrated in the visit of H.E. Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, President of Egypt, to Spain in February 2025, during which the bilateral relations were upgraded to the level of a strategic partnership. The visit was followed, six months later, by a state visit of His Majesty King Felipe the Sixth and Her Majesty Queen Letizia to Egypt, and less than six weeks later, His Majesty honored us with a second visit to Egypt to attend inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
