The Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Madrid will host, on 21 May at 7:00 PM, the launch of issue 5 of El Movi_Miento, Literary Creation Magazine. The event will also mark the official announcement of the El Movi_Miento International Novel Prize, an initiative aimed at building bridges between Spanish and Italian literature through voices not yet published.
The prize will recognise two debut novels — one in Spanish, one in Italian — selected for their distinctive voice, form, and literary necessity. Each winning work will receive €1,500 as an advance on royalties and will be published in its country of origin; both will also be translated and released in the other language, extending their reach across both sides of the Mediterranean. The prize is supported by Bunker Books and Bibliotheka Edizioni, alongside various cultural partner organisations.
The open call launches on the day of the event and will remain open until 1 September 2026.
The evening will bring together authors, readers, and representatives from the cultural world in an open forum for dialogue. A wine reception will follow the event. Free entry with prior registration on Eventbrite, subject to capacity.
